Following the success of my collaboration with the Nudie Jeans Co repair shops in New York City, I hosted a mending and upcycling workshop in their Williamsburg space. This was used as the functioning system aspect of my senior thesis project, putting the system of slow and intentional design that I created to the test. I created mending kits with materials sourced from Fabscrap- a secondhand and deadstock fabric store in Brooklyn. I also created “ Get Your Hands D.I.R.TY” mending instructions which were included in the kits- download here. The event was promoted by Nudie Jeans Co on their official instagram page, and via flyers made by the Nudie Jeans Co marketing team.
