About
Sydney Levy is a graduate with a Bachelors in Fine Art from the Fashion Design program at Parsons School of Design- concentrating in the Systems and Society pathway. She approaches design with a unique combination of systems-thinking, sustainability, storytelling, and technical craftsmanship. Growing up in Michigan surrounded by nature, Sydney developed a love for the environment at a young age. This fuels her passion to collaborate with other innovators to create art that makes a difference. Her work emphasizes themes of environmental awareness, collaboration, and community. These values are most notable in her Parsons senior thesis project, D.I.R.T- Designed Innovative Regenerative Textiles, which explores the influence that modern fashion trends have on how we consume clothing. By centralizing innovative materials and intentional design instead of trends, Sydney demonstrates how we can use an idealized system to slow the fast fashion paradigm and create meaningful things again.
